The breakfast really impressed me, with lots to choose from, fresh baguettes, well cooked scrambled eggs, cheeses, vegetables, and juices. Service was great, and I'll surely visit again. At the restaurant, our raggmunk was very good and the Caesar salad was good too, though I'd have preferred romaine lettuce, a bit more Dijon mustard, and lemon in the dressing. We came on 13/02/25 with my partner and our one year old son. A nice woman at reception showed us the parking and let us check in about two hours early. Room one was lovely, but the old cell has a low entrance, so at around 190 cm tall you'll have trouble getting in and out. When sleeping, my head and feet touched the walls at the same time. The wireless chargers didn't work, at least with an iPhone. Still, it was a very positive visit.

I've stayed here many times over the decades, arriving on foot, by car, and by motorcycle, alone, with friends, and with family. I've never been disappointed. It's a quiet place despite being central, and if you like walking, the route to the town center follows the waterfront. I'm afraid I can't remember whether there's Wi-Fi. It's a great youth hostel in a former prison. Each room has two beds and a little private bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. Breakfast costs extra and is served at the hotel next door. There's plenty of it, and it's delicious, with Swedish bread as well as German rolls. In summer, you need to book ahead.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Sleeping in the old prison cells was an unusual experience. Exceptional, I'd gladly return.
