Motel L Hammarby Sjöstad

I was there in September 2025 for a fitness event at the Globen Arena. My room had a small table area and an armchair, and was reasonably spacious; the bathroom was spacious too. The service was courteous and efficient. There’s a supermarket nearby, and the tram stop is only about a two-minute walk away. Stockholm centre is around 15 minutes by taxi.

The room design was one of my favorite things. It felt luxurious for the price, with plenty of space by European standards, and the bathroom was clean and fresh. We arrived at 10 a.m., and the very friendly staff kindly let us check in early. The hotel is also easy to reach, with the streetcar stop just steps away. Breakfast was elaborate, with lots of unusual options and consistent quality.

We used this as a base to explore Stockholm at a reasonable price, and it worked perfectly. We went to hockey at the Avicii Arena, and a tram ride to Gamla Stan took no more than 10-15 minutes. The location was great. The room was comfortable, clean, spacious, and well maintained. There’s also a very large lounge area beside reception where you can relax. A great budget hotel.

The surroundings are lovely, with newly built houses and hotels alongside industrial and harbour buildings, and quite a few restaurants and cafes close by. The location is also handy for Avicii arena, the stadium, and sightseeing in the old town. A tram stop is a minute away, and the metro is a 10-minute walk; from there it’s about 10 minutes to the city centre. The room was very clean and had all the basic equipment, just not much storage space. Good value for money and exactly what I expected. Late check-in is available. I didn’t try the breakfast or bar food.
