ApartDirect Gamla Stan III

The apartment is centrally located and close to most attractions and places of interest, and we had a great stay in Stockholm. I have mobility issues, so the steep stairs down to the bedrooms and the bathroom on the first floor were a problem. Luckily, there was a large, comfortable sofa bed on the same level as the bathroom, which solved that. The shower is right beside the toilet and soaked the bathroom floor, which was odd, but the floor dried quickly and the shower was lovely and warm.

The apartment was clean, laid out well, and the bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom, though, is so tiny you can barely turn around. The people were responsive, and the price was affordable for a spot right in the old city. The pub downstairs makes some noise at night, but that wasn't too bad. The real problem was the early trash collection. The truck and the bottles clattering into it bounced off the stone buildings and woke me up. At first I thought it couldn't be that loud, but it was. If you're in college or don't need much sleep, you may be fine here. Just know what you're getting into, and maybe bring earplugs.

The location is great, and the landlord was very good to communicate with. But the apartment didn't look like the Booking.com photos. There were four of us, and the place felt cramped and dark. Both bedrooms are in the basement without windows. They got cool at night but felt stuffy, and the apartment's other two windows couldn't be opened either. The living room was too small for all four of us to sit on the sofa. There's no window in the bathroom, and even with the shower curtain the toilet gets wet when you shower.
