Villa Dagmar

I appreciate that the team took my concerns seriously and resolved the matter appropriately. After my initial disappointment with my stay at Villa Dagmar on December 27th, the hotel management got in touch and handled things professionally and generously. My original experience fell short of what I expected from an American Express Platinum booking, but the way they responded afterward restored my confidence. Taking responsibility and correcting mistakes says a lot about a hotel's standards. Thank you for addressing it.

The rooms and gym are both on the small side, but this hotel is worth a visit in itself. The beds are the best I've ever come across, the breakfast is top notch, and the indoor-outdoor area has an amazing atmosphere.

We were disappointed by the restaurant meal. The menu said the entrecôte (495) came with pommes, but the whole table got just one small bowl of fries. My pregnant partner had asked for her steak well done; it arrived red and undercooked. When we raised it, the server insisted it was well done and wouldn't send it back to cook longer, saying it would burn. She ended up not eating. That was very unprofessional and showed no concern for customer safety.

The bed was comfortable, but we wouldn't stay again. The hotel seemed like an afterthought to the “hip” restaurant, and getting to the elevators meant walking through it. With six pieces of luggage after a long trip, having no help from staff and squeezing through a crowded dining room was extremely irritating. When diners blocked the walkways, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We constantly felt out of place. In the evening, the front desk and room service were very difficult to reach. Turndown was sloppy, with a random hair tie and the bed only partly turned down, and the towels had holes. Restaurant DJs could be heard even from the top floor. We also skipped the sauna because reaching it meant walking through the restaurant again, and we couldn't imagine crossing past people eating after a sweat session.
