Quality Hotel Sundsvall

I was looking for any hotel still open late in the evening and found this one. The night manager was fantastic and found me a discounted room. It was clean and nice, and they offered me breakfast to go without my even asking. Just excellent. Keep it up, I'll definitely visit again! Marek from Poland!

The staff were very friendly, so one star would feel too harsh, but I can't give more than two. The location is good, there's an attached car park, and the rooms are spacious. Still, the view is of a petrol station and crossroads, so a quiet room isn't really an option. Breakfast was okay, except the cucumber tasted disgusting, and I regretted taking a bite. I stayed here four years ago and thought it was rather poor even then. Everyone deserves a second chance, but there won't be a third!

The pricing seems random. I got one quote by calling the hotel, a different one from the Strawberry booking service, and a third price online. It also seems random what I'll be charged if I add another night, and whether I'm allowed to keep my gold member room upgrade.

At 1350kr/night, this was a very average room, and there was no chance of sleeping. Every 15s throughout the night, a metal slamming sound from the elevators carried across the whole floor. One pillow felt like a sack of plastic leftovers, impossible to shape and liable to break your neck; the other was like a small towel and gave my neck no rest. At checkout, nobody even asked how the stay was. If this were called Low Quality Hotel and cost 500kr/night, I'd be happy. This is a book example of a hotel run by people who know nothing about hotels.
