Best Western Hotel Park Astoria

Breakfast was very good, and the restaurant service was nice too. The place was comfortable and peaceful, with friendly people. Parking and Wi-Fi were available.

We found it a convenient base for our business trip. The staff were kind and very accommodating, and breakfast covered the usual Swedish preferences for most of us.

The breakfast spread had lots to choose from, including fresh fruit, Swedish pancakes, chia, different breads and hot drinks, plus several lactose-free and gluten-free options. I especially liked the pancakes with raspberries, and there are some good restaurants nearby. My room was clean and carefully tidied each day, though it was basic, with no fridge and a small, dated bathroom. I was surprised there was no in-room iron; guests can use one in a room in the cellar. There isn't a gym or pool. I still had a pleasant stay.

We come to Enköping once or twice a year and have tried plenty of restaurants here. This turned out to be one of the best. We only came by chance, because my father-in-law lives here and wanted a Christmas dinner, and the menu had led them to choose this place. The menu was small and the restaurant quiet, but the food was surprisingly good. We had the deer, which was good meat with a lovely sauce and thinly sliced potato gratin. The calvados apples disappointed a bit, with too little calvados and not much flavor. My father-in-law ordered shrimp salad on toast, a huge serving, and he eats it often and said it was very good. For dessert we shared chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. The fondant was great and properly runny inside, though the ice cream didn't have much flavor. Service was friendly and good enough, but later in the evening, with the place so quiet, it was a little harder to get someone's attention.
