Scandic Sundsvall City

The service staff were so sweet, lovely and personal. Breakfast was the usual Scandic style, with options for most average tastes, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. My room was compact and quite warm, and the fan was loud. If you want a more luxurious, brand new feel, pick somewhere else. This is a good home base for several visits.

The room was clean and pleasant, with a nice view, a bathtub, a cot for our little one, and all the toiletries you’d expect. The kids’ playroom was a huge help when traveling with a toddler, and breakfast was fine, pretty standard for Sweden. The sauna was good, though you had to reserve a time. The staff were especially kind when the cold left our car unable to start. They even tried to jump it with their own car. Parking was a real letdown, though. It was hard to understand where to park, and after we checked with a staff member about a spot we thought was valid, we still got an 800kr ticket in the morning. They need clearer, better parking options for guests.

The location made it easy to get around Sundsvall, with attractions, shops, and places to eat within easy reach. I also really enjoyed the restaurant and its fresh, locally sourced Swedish dishes. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices for different tastes and dietary needs. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with cozy bedding and thoughtful amenities. The hotel’s modern decor gave the place a stylish feel, and the staff were friendly and attentive from check-in through checkout. They seemed genuinely willing to go the extra mile. I left very pleased with my stay and would recommend Scandic Hotel in Sundsvall to other travelers.

There’s a little park right outside where you can take the kids or walk your dog, and plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel is right in the city center. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was compact with a good bathroom. There’s no hotel parking. If you use the public lots, expect to pay around 60 bucks, and they can be quite hard to find.
