Best Western Uppsala

We appreciated being allowed to check in early. The room was simple but good value, with comfortable beds and a view of the church in central Uppsala. The small, somewhat dated bathroom worked fine. Breakfast was basic, though the pancakes were a big plus; we’d have liked more green options. Corridors could get noisy in the morning and during the day.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the place is central and easy to reach. After arriving late from the airport, we called a number and someone kindly explained how to get a key from a box. Our first room hadn’t been made up or cleaned, but another call got us a clean one. The internet could be better, and the shower water ran across the floor, so that may need some work. Everything else was good. Maybe my experience was unusual.

Our rooms were clean and a good size, and we received a free upgrade. The staff were really friendly, and breakfast was included with plenty of hot and cold choices. The location is fantastic for Uppsala’s main sights, and the bus stop for Gamla Uppsala is close by. I’d definitely recommend it.

Oscar at the front desk made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. He was cheerful and helpful, and his smile could brighten your day. My twin room was on the first floor, facing a lively street; I liked the atmosphere, and it quieted down at a reasonable hour. The room had pretty much what I needed, though body lotion would have been handy. The bathroom was roomy, with great water pressure and temperature, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. There’s also a separate ironing facility on the first floor.
