Cantonment Serviced Apartment

There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets close by, including Indian restaurants just two lanes behind the service apartment. Sentosa is only 15 minutes away. The place suited our group of four, though the sofa bed might not be comfortable for more people. It's well located and connected: Chinatown is an easy walk, and there's a bus within five minutes. Mr. Aung was kind and helpful at all times. We had a good time.

The apartment was very clean and tidy, with fresh, comfortable linen and no mold that we could see. We appreciated having air conditioning and a washing machine in Singapore's constant humidity. Servicing is twice weekly on a fixed schedule, so it might suit your trip or it might not. Our cleaning days fell on the first day and the second-to-last day. We skipped the final cleaning since checkout was the next day, but they did bring fresh towels midway through our stay. The biggest disappointment was booking a two-bedroom apartment for four adults and getting a one-bedroom unit with another bed in the lounge. It made the holiday with friends a bit awkward: there was no room for a couch, and the kitchen table only seated two, so breakfast meant standing or sitting on the bed. The kitchen was tiny, short on cutlery, and had a jumble of dishes; I wouldn't want to cook there without the basic things it lacked. The location was fairly convenient, with an MRT station 600m away, a bus stop and convenience store right outside, and central Chinatown about 1.2km away. We also found a lovely nearby cafe with great croissants and coffee. One important thing at check-in: make sure you can make a landline call, since you have to call reception to get the door opened before you can enter.

The location was perfect, probably the best part of the city, and the service was helpful. Our room worked fine for two people. The only issue was the air conditioning ran all the time and we couldn't switch it off. When we're back in Singapore, we'll stay here again.

Our two-bedroom serviced apartment was right in the center and convenient for getting around. It had plenty of space for the family and useful features like a full-sized fridge, washing machine, and microwave. Reception manager Tajuddin deserves special mention for his excellent hospitality. He was friendly, always available, and made our stay more comfortable.
