The location was the main draw for me. Capri by Fraser China Square sits near Chinatown, MRT stations, food streets, cafes and local sights, so it’s easy to explore on foot or by public transport. There are plenty of local places to eat nearby, and breakfast is available for a fee with a decent spread. The hotel feels fresh, modern and well kept. My room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and useful touches like a kitchenette, microwave and filtered water tap. There’s a rooftop pool with city views, plus a gym, spa, steam room and 24-hour fitness center. Nice options for relaxing after a day out. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. They answered questions with a smile. It’s a stylish, well designed boutique hotel that works for business or leisure, with a good balance of comfort, value and central convenience.

We found the staff especially kind and helpful throughout our stay, and the hotel was very well maintained. The rooms were clean, cozy and spacious enough, and the price felt like good value for the quality and location. It’s ideally placed in Chinatown. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Sri Mariamman Temple and Thian Hock Keng Temple are all easy walks away, as is Merlion Park. Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay are farther out, though still walkable if you like a longer stroll. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Capri by Fraser, China Square is a stylish boutique base in central Singapore, near Chinatown and the CBD. MRT is close, and plenty of sights, restaurants and hawker centers can be reached on foot. It’s not a landmark hotel, but the location makes getting around easy. The staff were a highlight: warm, attentive and welcoming. Check-in was smooth and requests were handled efficiently. The modern rooms have smart layouts and practical touches, with a comfortable feel. Everything seemed clean and well maintained, including the pool and fitness area. The pool is a nice place to cool off after walking around the city. It feels contemporary without being flashy, and the price seems reasonable for Singapore given the design, service and location. A relaxed, comfortable option for short or longer stays. Strong service, central convenience and the pool make it easy to recommend. It’s upper mid-range or boutique luxury, rather than an ultra-luxury landmark, but delivers well for comfort and friendly hospitality.

The room had no meaningful view, and the in-room dining choices were limited, poorly described and overpriced. Having tipping prompts come up repeatedly during payment felt uncomfortable and forced. The hall carpets made moving luggage slow and difficult, and the kettle in the room looked old and worn. Housekeeping also missed my long hair on the bathroom floor after cleaning. The room was smaller than I expected and had several awkward design choices. The faucet was off to the side of the sink, the side tables had very little usable space, and the heavy toilet and shower doors took up much of the already cramped bathroom. There wasn’t an outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer or curler. Service was disappointing for a hotel marketed and priced at a premium. There was no concierge for late night check-in, and the front desk staff seemed unfriendly, arrogant and unwelcoming. Interactions felt cold and dismissive, and getting an answer about late checkout took many days and repeated follow-ups. This did not feel like a 5-star hotel. For the service, room design, cleanliness and value, the experience felt closer to a one-star stay than something worth premium prices. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
