Habyt Clarke Quay - Previously Champion City

The reception staff were lovely, but the room was grimy, with dirty sheets that had stains, maybe black mold. I booked two nights three months in advance, and then the ownership changed. The hot water lasted only 30 seconds before stopping, even though the wall button was switched on. I checked out a day early after just one night. I’d avoid this place if you can.

Natasha was kind and let me check out a little late. I also lost my key one night, and the person I called at 11pm was gracious and helpful. I’m glad they were so kind.

Good value if you know what to expect. The location is great, the price is good, and the rooms are okay. It was reasonably clean, and the shower worked, though the boiler runs out quickly with that rain shower. There’s construction next door, and you can hear it. The room is small. Put your luggage on the floor and there’s no space to walk around. Still cheaper than a full hotel room and larger than a pod hotel.

I stayed six nights and had a great time. The terrace has a nice view and setting, and I didn’t hear any construction during those six days. The room was small but had what I needed, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. The price is very good for the location. This was my fifth visit to Singapore, and I’d never stayed in the same place twice before, but I’ll come back here on my next trip.
