Classique Hotel (SG Clean Certified)

There’s a bus stop nearby, and the hawker centre is only a two- to three-minute walk away. The superior room was clean and spacious, with a high-pressure hot and cold shower at any time of day. Steeven and another receptionist were welcoming and easy to approach, and helped us check in early. Great value for a budget hotel, and I’d recommend it.

The manager was supportive, and the receptionists were polite. They stored our luggage for two days before check-in while we went to Sentosa. There’s no breakfast at the hotel, but plenty of restaurants nearby. They don’t leave bottled drinking water in the rooms, just a jug that you can fill at the cafe by reception. The location’s decent, about a five-minute walk from Mustafa Centre. I stayed with my family for two nights and booked three rooms. They were clean and nice, and the room with a road-facing window was pleasant. The size works for a double bed, but a triple-bed room can feel cramped to move around in. Otherwise, the rooms were good, and I’d recommend staying here.

The hotel has purified water on the ground floor, where you can refill the steel jug. They didn’t ask for a security deposit, which felt like a civilised way to treat guests. We’ll see how checkout goes. To be continued... I’m one night into our stay and, after worrying about some past comments, I’m pleasantly surprised that things have gone smoothly so far. The room is spacious by Singapore standards and clean. The air conditioning works well without being noisy, and the beds were clean and comfortable. We slept well, but noisy people in the hallway woke us in the morning. I suspect it was the cleaning ladies, since we’d heard the same voices for about half an hour before they went quiet. There were two strands of hair in the bathtub, presumably left by previous guests, but the good points outweighed that, so we just cleaned it ourselves.

We arrived expecting the one-night stay confirmed through Agoda, where I had booked and paid. The hotel’s reservation showed only a six-hour day-use booking, and they said the confirmation they received was from Booking. After some arguing, they told us to contact Agoda ourselves to clarify, saying Agoda and Booking had become partners and there were discrepancies in the system. That’s not our problem as customers. Our booking was confirmed for one night through Agoda, but they asked us to pay extra to stay overnight. This wasn’t acceptable. I don’t think they put customers first, so please avoid booking here.
