Coliwoo Hotel Pasir Panjang

We had a great stay at Coliwoo. The room was better than I expected, well equipped, and clean. There's a park nearby for a 5-10 km walk or jog, plus restaurants close by.

I haven't checked in yet, but I've already had great customer service while arranging a two-month stay at Coliwoo Pasir Panjang during renovations at my place, which is just a stone's throw away. Jack, the Senior Sales Manager, is always a text away and replies promptly, even after office hours. Jenny, who oversees the site, was very helpful when I visited before confirming the stay. When I returned to pay, she patiently explained the do's and don'ts. I'm looking forward to staying there under Jenny's care.

We had to wait several extra hours late at night to get into our room, even though we'd told the staff when we were arriving and nobody was at the front desk. Then we were given the wrong room, which was tiny, moldy, and had very little space, despite having booked what was supposed to be the most expensive and best room. They eventually moved us to the correct room after a few days, but I had to speak up to get that fixed. There were lots of ants throughout the stay. Staff blamed our food, but my friends on exchange programs had the same problem at the same hotel, so it seemed widespread. I was bitten on the face, it became reinfected three times, and I still have a scar. The drainage was terrible, the bathroom always smelled bad, and cleaning was only once a week. There were also many random fees. We disputed some charges and asked for compensation for the experience, but were turned away. They offered to book us an airport ride and give us wine, which doesn't undo the damage to my face or the hospital costs. The staff seemed negligent and communication was poor. If you're an exchange student or looking to stay near NUS, look elsewhere. You can find better places at the same or a lower price, and I want others to avoid the awful experience I had.

The room was comfortable and clean, and I had a very good stay. The hotel staff were kind, helpful, and warm. Thanks to Jenny for your help, and to the cleaner who helped us carry our luggage!
