Furama City Centre

The staff are the reason this stay stood out so much. Zacus Chua at the concierge and Pauline, who checked us in at the front desk, were wonderful. Everyone was warm, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile. Working in hospitality myself, I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I also wish I’d got the name of the housekeeper on our 17th floor. Her work was impeccable, not a speck of dirt on the carpet or sink after she’d cleaned. In all my years of travel, she’s one of the most thorough and hardworking housekeeping staff I’ve met. I hope Furama City Centre management gives these staff members a bonus for making our stay memorable. We spent eight nights here, and the sheltered walkways to the shopping mall and MRT station were a lifesaver. It rained every day, but we could get around easily thanks to that connection. The hotel is dated, including the rooms and bathrooms, but the beds were very comfortable and there was enough space. Room cleaning is only every three days, which didn’t bother me at all. Fresh towels and amenities are available anytime at the lift lobby. I’d recommend this place without hesitation and return on all my annual Singapore trips. It’s a pity we didn’t find it sooner. Honestly, the Hyatts and Hiltons can’t compare. It may not be rated five stars, but for comfort, location, and the staff’s can-do attitude, I’d give it eight if that classification existed.

The location is excellent, about a 10-minute walk to China Town and Clarke Quay, and five minutes to the Downtown Line MRT. The MRT is the way to get around. The level-six pool is nice once you find it, and the gym looked well equipped. There’s also a self-service laundry on that floor, a little pricey but handy. We booked an Executive Club room for a week. Room 2008 was renovated, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was included with lots of choice, and Alice in the dining room arranged gluten-free bread for me each morning. The Executive Lounge served drinks and light food from 6 to 8 each evening, including spirits, wine, beer, and soft drinks. Ralph, Ray, and Ivy were lovely and fun, made guests feel special, and kept the drinks flowing. What a gem in central Singapore. I’d recommend it and stay again.

Chinatown MRT station is right downstairs, which saved us time and made getting around with two children easy. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with a tidy, comfortable, organized room where we could relax after busy days. We also liked being able to pick up toiletries and supplies whenever we needed them from the self-service amenities station. The staff were friendly and ready to help with questions. They welcomed our family warmly at check-in and gave our kids two adorable hotel plush toys. It was a small gesture, but it made them smile and gave us a lovely first impression. We had a comfortable, enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel to other families.

The breakfast buffet was probably the best I’ve ever had in all my travels. We stayed in the executive suite in February 2026, and check-in and check-out were simple, easy, and efficient. The clean, tidy rooms have loads of storage. The hotel is conveniently located in China Town, with a shopping centre across the road. The suite includes access to the club lounge, with complimentary cold drinks during the day and snacks. From 6pm to 8pm, there’s complimentary local beer, house wine, spirits, and canapes. Ivy, Reva, Ralph, Ray, Lai, Yun, Ali G, and Alice made my holiday extra special by helping me with different things and being friendly and happy. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend it!
