We used an Agoda membership promotion to book a staycation at Copthorne King's Hotel Singapore for $137. The hotel is established and sits on Havelock Road near Robertson Quay, about a five-minute walk from Havelock MRT, with easy access to Chinatown, Orchard Road, and the Central Business District. At around 5:30 PM we found a big crowd checking in. We tried one of the self-service kiosks, but the system wasn't easy to use. It required a physical IC card rather than a digital option like Singpass, and the scanner took several attempts to read our details. After we finally got through that, it asked for extra payment even though Agoda had already charged my credit card in full. We had to join the long counter queue to sort it out, and check-in took about 30 minutes. Guests should be told in advance that they need a physical IC, since Singpass isn't accepted. I also suggested that the kiosks warn guests who have paid online that they may not be suitable, to prevent this kind of delay and confusion. Our room was spacious and well maintained for an older hotel, with a small balcony and a pleasant city view. The bathroom and toiletries were sufficient, and the modern TV had Chromecast and screen mirroring. The level-three pool, sauna, steam bath, and gym looked well maintained, though we didn't use them. We took some photos to remember the stay. Downstairs, there was a Starbucks self-service coffee machine on level one, a handy place to get a coffee and sit. A lounge normally has live band performances, but there were no activities there on the night we visited. The cafeteria was under renovation, so breakfast wasn't available. It's well placed for exploring the city centre, though there isn't much within immediate walking distance. Tiong Bahru and Club Street are a short walk or Grab ride away, with various places to eat and things to do. One disappointing moment came at about 11 PM. Kitty queued at reception to ask to extend checkout from 11 AM to noon. When it was her turn, a staff member, probably the manager, acknowledged us briefly and then left for his office without explanation or returning. An apology or a quick explanation of his absence would have been more courteous. Copthorne King's Hotel Singapore remains a solid choice for its location, comfortable rooms, and modern amenities. The check-in process, staff communication, and guest service could be better. We might stay again.

The food was delicious, and lots of our guests said the same. We were too busy at the wedding to eat much, but the staff packed food for us and it still tasted great a few hours later. The programme flowed smoothly from the tea ceremony through cocktails to the lunch reception. The banquet managers were patient and on top of things, even when we had to delay the schedule. Desmond, Alvin, Lim, and our sales coordinator Adrian deserve a special mention for patiently accommodating our requests and last-minute changes. Adrian also arranged a special pureed meal for one guest, which meant she could attend and celebrate with us. We felt very well looked after all day. The banquet and tea ceremony halls were nicely decorated, with a cozy, warm feel. Our room stays were fantastic too, comfortable places to rest between events. We got married at Copthorne King’s on 17 Jan 2026 and had a wonderful time. Thanks for taking such good care of us and our guests. We're grateful and would happily recommend the team to other couples.

The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and well-equipped gym were all clean and enjoyable, and the central location made it easy to get to Orchard Road, Chinatown and Clarke Quay. We booked two rooms for £80 a night, which felt like a great deal. Both were spotless and well kept, one with a road view towards the Intercontinental and the other looking onto the pool and a quieter part of the hotel. I also liked the room’s AI assistant radio. Check-in started awkwardly because the person at reception wasn’t very welcoming. I mentioned it to management, and they sorted it out within minutes, apologized kindly and sent a lovely fruit platter to our room. Their quick response made a real difference. We had a fantastic stay and I’d definitely return.

I stopped by for dinner and enjoyed the chicken and mutton curries. Both were creamy and good, and the staff were especially polite, kind and welcoming. The lobby is small, though, with so little seating that the waiting area feels cramped. A pleasant meal overall.

The room was small, and its window was covered in green algae, which was completely unacceptable for a four-star hotel. We asked for housekeeping in the morning, but nobody had come by the time we returned in the late afternoon. The bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and the shower gel bottle was empty. It clearly hadn’t been checked or refilled before we arrived. I was also surprised that there was no complimentary bottled water. The concierge staff came across as unfriendly and didn’t even offer a greeting or smile. They also failed to give basic directions to the lift, our room or the breakfast area. I can’t understand how this place is considered four-star. The whole experience was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Singapore is known for hospitality and high service standards, so this hotel fell far short of what I expected.
