D’Resort @ Downtown East

The outdoor barbecue area was the best part of our stay at the D’Resort chalet at Downtown East. The pit was close to the room, but the barbecue pits are near one another, so it could feel cramped when busy. Luckily it wasn't crowded while we were there, and we had enough space to use it comfortably. The floor didn't seem to have been mopped properly, and the toilet wasn't very clean. An okay stay overall.

Vanessa, the duty manager, handled some difficult situations exceptionally well, and my family and I felt well protected from a few unreasonable guests. The facilities were clean and well cared for, making D’Resort a great place for family or social activities. Big kudos to her and the operations team.

We only stayed overnight after a last-minute trip to visit family, arriving after midnight and leaving the next morning, so we didn’t get to explore the facilities. Our quad-sharing family room had two queen beds. The bathroom was awful, with lots of insects and no glass for brushing our teeth. The resort is by Pasir Ris beach, and we noticed a huge water park right next door.

The helpful staff made our late check-in easy, and the room was nice. We were here for one night during a stopover, and the resort is close to Changi airport without the airport noise being an issue. Pasir Ris park and wetlands are also within walking distance, although the gates and fences made it hard to find the way in. The signs weren’t clear, so don’t rely on Google Maps for walking directions. Nearby shops don’t always stay open late either, and after our delayed flight we had few late-night dining options. Still, the beach, water park, and other family-friendly attractions make this a convenient place, and we’d stay again.
