Dream Lodge Farrer Park

The 22-bed female dorm was surprisingly quiet, and the beds felt so private I could have imagined it was a 4-bed dorm. The place was lovely, clean and quiet, with a great host at reception, breakfast included, good wi-fi and clean shared bathrooms. Thanks for the stay, I'd definitely come back.

The location was convenient for walking to Arab St. and different mosques, and I liked the receptionists I spoke to, including Ley An. I'm sorry I forgot the other lady's name, but she was nice too. In my two nights, I didn't run into any males on the female-only floor, so I got lucky. I knew from reading and asking that the female section shares its toilet and shower with males, but I really wish management would change that and close it off to men. It would let Muslimahs like me take care of our own business without hurrying. I'd also strongly recommend having only women change the bedding in the female section. The capsule was nice, with a little cabinet inside, and the AC was always on. The doors do click, as other reviews say, but it's not very loud. They have stoppers, though I can see how it'd be annoying if your bed is beside one. I asked in advance to be away from the door, and they noted it, so I didn't have to worry. I also couldn't hear the loud karaoke from neighboring buildings. I booked thru Airbnb and customer service was responsive. My advance request for a bed away from the door was noted, which I appreciated. For luggage, just inquire and you'll get your answer. You can leave it in the first-floor luggage room. I packed what I needed for two nights in a separate bag ahead of time, so I didn't have to keep going back and forth. Be a savvy traveller and save yourself the worry. I don't understand the negative reviews. I set my expectations based on what was obvious: it's a hostel, so noise and cramped bed space are expected. I only wish I'd known about the free breakfast, which should be mentioned at check-in. I was only told there was complimentary coffee and tea. Breakfast next time, please! I recommend the place, but please keep the female floor toilet and shower strictly for women, and have only female helpers. My Singapore stay was worth it.

It isn't a social hostel if that's what you're looking for, but the atmosphere was still friendly and respectful. I stayed one night in the all-female dorm. Basic, but comfortable.

I was upgraded to a female dorm with lots of beds, but everyone was respectful. The bathroom door is really noisy and can be annoying at night. The bed was comfortable, with a curtain, plug, cupboard for personal belongings and a lockable cupboard. There were two pillows and a towel, and the showers were clean and hot. My plans changed a few times, but reception communicated well, and late check-in was possible and well organized. I added soy milk and orange juice to my breakfast. You can find this automat on the way to 7/11. I'd come back anytime. I had an amazing stay.
