Fragrance Hotel - Viva

A really good place to stay, and the location is very convenient. Firdaus and Jenny were great members of the hotel staff.

The front desk staff were friendly, so that part was fine. What made the stay awful was the mold. I could smell it strongly as soon as I walked into the lobby, and it was even worse in the room, where there were no windows to open. There was no ventilation in the room or shower. I booked because I thought I could walk to the ferry terminal. It’s doable if you’re a strong walker with almost no luggage, but I had to take a taxi. There’s just one other hotel close to the terminal, Harbourfront Lodge, and it costs more. I was awake worrying the mold would make me seriously ill. My nose started running, I had trouble breathing, and my throat was itchy. It was a really unpleasant stay, one of the worst I’ve experienced anywhere. If you’re used to these kinds of health hazards, go for it. Otherwise, I’d run.

Kina and Jenny were friendly and looked after us well. My partner and I had a comfortable stay, and the room was clean, cool, and roomy enough for one night. The bathroom was a bit small, but that was fine. The location is really convenient. Prices are a little higher on weekdays, but we had an awesome stay.

The rooms are on the small side, but they were clean and the service was great. Jenny at the front desk was especially kind and sweet. She printed a lot of urgent documents for me without complaining, and took the initiative to make my stay better. I had an enjoyable time here.
