The best thing about this hostel was the staff. Over the years I've travelled, I haven't met better. From the first day to the last, they treated me so kindly that I felt more like a friend than a guest. The owner, Mr. Allan, is friendly and open-minded, always ready to help or have a chat. It's cheap, has modern interiors, air conditioning, comfortable beds with privacy curtains and a washing machine. The location is handy for public transport, with a friendly neighbourhood, a food centre about 100 metres away, and an ATM and supermarkets nearby. There's also a bench right outside where you can start the day with tea and lots of sunshine. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. Definitely coming back!

The owners are incredibly helpful and friendly, and Mei Ling, especially, made me feel very welcome. It's a clean, well-kept hostel with good facilities in a convenient spot. The bus stop for major areas and train lines is right outside, and there's a big local shop with hot food places next door. I'd absolutely recommend it to backpackers or anyone visiting Singapore, 10/10.

It felt more like a homeless shelter than a hostel, and there were no windows. The manager was the worst part. At check-in she made me feel like I was bothering her, and when I asked about the area she acted as if I were a burden. She doesn't speak any English. After checkout, I asked if I could leave my backpack for two hours while I went to get food, and she got mad at me. Please fire her. One of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in.

Alan was very accommodating, and I had a beer with the friendly, jovial chap. It was a great place to crash for the night, better than I expected. Thanks, Golden Hostel. I'd recommend it to everyone.

There's a 24/7 convenience store and a small food court with cheap meals around the block. The place is under an HDB, so it's quite convenient. It's decent as long as you don't mind taking the bus and walking every day.
