Grand Hyatt Singapore

The breakfast in the main restaurant was the clear low point. The hotel was full, and the long queues and crowded, rushed atmosphere felt suffocating. Before seating us, staff asked whether we'd share a big table with another group, assuring us there'd be enough space and privacy. Soon after, another party was placed right beside us, elbow-to-elbow. We asked for more separation, and they adjusted it to leave one empty seat. The hectic breakfast made it seem the hotel could do more for guests at peak times, perhaps by opening another restaurant. Outside breakfast, the dining was a highlight. Food was excellent across the board, including room service, which was quick, reliable, and had plenty of choices. We enjoyed a lunch buffet at StraitsKitchen with local friends. The spread of local Singaporean dishes felt like a mini street food tour in an upscale, comfortable setting. It's popular, so booking ahead is a good idea. We had a positive weekend at the newly refurbished Grand Hyatt Singapore. Our Executive Suite was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, with thoughtful details. The newly designed rooms feel fresh and modern, and the hotel makes a relaxing base in the heart of Orchard Road.

Auni's warmth stayed with me after we left. She even hurried outside to say goodbye, a genuinely sweet gesture that made the visit more memorable. I wish I could find staff like Auni and the others at Grand Hyatt Singapore back in Australia. Thank you, and see you in the future. We were there for five nights in February 2026, during Chinese New Year, which we hadn't known about beforehand. We had two premier suites with club access and never had a bad day at the hotel. Azizah helped us get early access to our rooms and welcomed us warmly while we rested in the club. The 54m2 rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished, and had great views over the Orchard Road area, walk-in robes, and sublime bathrooms with exceptional showers. We made the club our regular spot. The variety and quality were great, thanks to Chef Stefan and the team. Auni and Arby gave six-star service, and Thisis, Chang, and Roy were standouts too. The gym was world class and a pleasure to use. The pool and landscaped outdoor oasis were peaceful, beautifully put together, and felt like a little slice of serenity despite being in the Orchard Road area. We'd stayed at Raffles and Ritz Carlton before, and both were fantastic. But the Grand Hyatt's property, ideal location near shopping and entertainment, and exceptional club team and offerings make it a standout. We'll return next time we're in Singapore.

The hotel's location just off Orchard Road is amazing, and I loved the Christmas choir in the lobby. I also enjoyed the large, well-equipped gym and the pool and surrounding gardens. I wish the hotel would keep the wellness pool for its intended use. A sign says no children below 6 years old, but because it's shallow, children under 6 were in it and staff didn't seem to care. That made it unpleasant. The lounge felt like a circus, packed to the brim. I appreciated that the hotel added space, which helped, but there were still lots of screaming children, empty plates and bottles, and no ice, glasses, or refills. It was unpleasant nearly every day at breakfast and happy hour. I was excited to try the hotel after its renovations, but the stay felt like being in a hotel factory, with little care for individual guests and their needs. Our suite was an okay size, but the layout was awkward: the closet was tiny and poorly arranged, the bathroom was just okay, and the huge table took up much of the living area. The ceilings seemed super low. I'm almost 2m tall, and I believe they're 2.3m, even lower in the bathrooms. I kept feeling I might hit my head.

The convenient location, with plenty to walk to and public transport nearby, made the stay okay overall. The room was modern, clean, and big, and the drinking water dispensers on every floor were a nice touch. There's a pool too. Service fell short. Check-in was mediocre, and after arriving in Singapore we needed to change out of our winter clothes before going out. Our suitcases didn't arrive for over an hour, so we couldn't change and lost an hour of our holiday waiting. We got them only after calling reception twice. The coffee machine and make-up mirror light in the room were broken, which was disappointing at this price. The technician was very friendly, even though his English wasn't the best. I'd come back, but only in low season. 6.5/10.
