J8 Hotel

I booked a single room for 25 to 28 December 2025, and as a solo traveler I was very satisfied. It was spacious for one person, clean, quiet enough for a good night's sleep, and room service came every day. The bathroom was roomy too, with a bidet and full amenities. Bottled water, coffee, tea, and more were complimentary. The TV, AC, and hotel water all worked well. Staff were friendly, and having breakfast available was helpful. There are lots of food stalls and convenience stores nearby. The bus stop and MRT station take a bit of a walk to reach. The rate was very affordable even in peak season. I'd recommend it to backpackers who still want a private room.

We stayed eight nights. The hotel was clean, the bed was nice, and the shower was good. There was a hair dryer in the room, and the bus stop and MRT are nearby. Service was good overall. For vegetarians, though, I'd suggest adding some food choices. Also, even though we booked as a couple, the bathroom had only one toothbrush set and one shower cap.

The room was dirty when we arrived, and the AC wasn't working properly, which made the stay uncomfortable. We told the staff but didn't get prompt or adequate help. Clean rooms and functioning facilities are basic for guest comfort, so it was disappointing that these problems weren't handled effectively. I expected better service and maintenance, and ask that the matter be investigated so this doesn't happen again.

The location is good, but the service was poor. Less than an hour after check-in, I was told to move to a smaller room because the maintenance team supposedly needed to make “repairs” in my original one. What I saw was a switch from one queen bed to two singles. There was no housekeeping on my first day. In my opinion, this hotel isn't suited to families, and the breakfast was average.
