Victoria Hotel, a NuVe Group Collection

I've been staying at Victoria Hotel since 2008, but this visit was a complete 180-degree change from the last one. For the first time in years, I'm genuinely looking forward to coming back. The team on duty made me feel like a guest again. I checked in at the last minute, yet my key was ready. The room was clean, the amenities complete, and I slept eight and a half hours, which helped me recover for my marathon. When I extended my stay, they offered a rate more or less like my original booking. They also let me have a three-hour extension after understanding why I needed it. Anna, Shirley and Alvies made the service feel different. I felt grateful, rested and healthy. Even the simple Christmas ornaments in the lobby gave the place a warm, homey touch and made the season feel present. Thank you.

A good base for Singapore, with a great location and approachable, accommodating staff. Before arriving, I read some reviews and messaged the hotel to ask for a modern room away from the elevators. They granted the request. A shout-out to Ms Sheryl, a filipina girl at the front desk, for her friendly, helpful manner and warm welcome. The 7Eleven right next door was handy for grabbing a drink or snack on the way back from

The room itself was good. My first night was rough, though: guests brought durians in and ate them around midnight, and the smell kept me awake all night. I told the receptionist the next day, and he handled it promptly. He knew which unit it was coming from and asked them to take the fruit away and dispose of it. I slept well the second night.

Victoria Hotel is hard to beat for the price. The location works perfectly for getting around, and the rooms are clean, roomy, with a comfortable bed. I do miss having a gym and pool, but it’s a good place to work, get around easily, and rest at a reasonable rate. The front desk team has helped me many times, always smiling and gracious. They’re measurably better than staff at any five-star hotel I’ve stayed at in SG.
