Lai Ming Hotel Cosmoland

We had a family room with four beds. It was quiet and not crowded, and cleanliness was acceptable. The bathroom had hot water, but the only toiletries were hand wash. Breakfast was just bread, margarine, marmalade, and tea or coffee; there was hot water in the kitchen, but no way to make tea in the room. There's no elevator, and no one to help with heavy bags. It was okay, but not good.

I missed home on the first day of vacation because this was such a bad stay. The entrance had a strong, irritating smell, maybe from the chickens and their droppings. Inside, the room was tiny, dusty, and smelled awful. The bedsheets smelled bad too, and I found cockroaches on the floor, along with spiderwebs. There's hardly space to walk, and no fridge. Even perfume couldn't cover the stench. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

Two years ago, we booked three rooms here, but none was very clean and I didn't see any room service. The staff weren't friendly, and the way they spoke to us was unpleasant. Once I asked for a few extra drinking glasses. They said they'd bring them, but never did. The dining area was dirty and didn't look like the photos on Booking.com. The air conditioning worked very poorly, and the windows looked untidy. I don't recommend this place.

The beds were very springy, and neighboring guests made noise at night. It's an old-style budget hotel with no elevator, so you have to use the stairs. It was okay overall.
