I’ve stayed with Lloyd since 2018, once or twice a year, and will definitely be back soon. The rooms are clean and simple, with plenty of space and an artistic design. It’s an easy walk to somerset mrt station, so getting around is simple. Breakfast is included, and you get traditional Singaporean-style breakfast every day.

Annie at the front desk made a real difference. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful from check-in through check-out, which made everything feel personal and welcoming. The room was clean, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly cozy after a long day out in the city. Lloyd’s Inn has a calm, minimalist feel, like a quiet escape despite being conveniently located. A really pleasant stay, and I’d definitely return for the comfort, simplicity, and service.

The staff were the best part of my stay, and the rooms are nice, spacious, airy, with high ceilings. The location is interesting, just off Orchard Road, so it’s quieter. I’d wanted to stay here for a long time, but it felt more like an inn than a hotel. My basement room was very dark and loud. Staff came in early, and there was lots of banging from doors and carts, which made it uncomfortable. The WiFi didn’t work well down there either. The pool isn’t a real pool, just a wading pool for design purposes.

The first day receptionist was lovely, and she’s the main reason I’m still giving this place a few stars. We often walked past Lloyd's Inn while grocery shopping and were curious, so we finally stayed for three days over the 31 Jan weekend. Check-in was great. The room was okay, and we didn’t expect much since things are generally smaller in Singapore. Some plug points were wonky, but everything else was good. We loved the little courtyard attached to the room. The problem came on day two. We bought instant noodles and dried snacks, left them in the room, and hung the bag on the doorknob because space was limited. When we got back, the food was gone. Housekeeping first said she had thrown it away. I was annoyed: I’d had a long day running errands without time for lunch, and the snacks were meant to tide me over until dinner. She offered to GO THROUGH THE BIN to retrieve them. How unhygienic is that? My partner went straight to asking for compensation because he didn’t see a point in arguing. Much later, the front desk gave us the snack bag from housekeeping. I didn’t want to accept it after being told it had been thrown away, but the receptionist said housekeeping had kept it in the housekeeping room. I’m still not sure what happened. Housekeeping said she thought it was rubbish and threw it away, while reception later said she kept it because the food was unopened. I can see how a bag hanging on the door might look like trash, but it was obviously unopened dry food, especially since someone had kept it. If it had been our last day and we’d checked out, fair enough, housekeeping could have first dibs. But we still had another day, and she took our food and said she’d thrown it away. Did they dig the unopened food out of the bin and give it back, or did housekeeping take things from our room? I’m not sure which is worse.

The place was cozy, clean overall, and conveniently located. There was a free coffee machine right outside our room. Staff on both the day and night shifts were accommodating, and Sha at reception handled our checkout very efficiently.
