Mercure Singapore Bugis

The loft room was compact and a bit closed in. There were no proper windows downstairs, and we noticed a strong mould smell. The sofa wasn't comfortable either. What left me with a mixed final impression was the late checkout: I could stay until 2pm, but extending to 7pm on my birthday came with a rather high charge. As a loyal Accor customer, I thought they could have been more flexible. I did appreciate the upgrade to a loft, and the room had coffee and useful toiletries like a toothbrush and toothpaste. The pool area was pleasant, with towels and extended opening hours. The hotel is central, within walking distance of the MRT, with easy airport access by metro or taxi. Overall, it was a generally pleasant stay at a solidly located hotel.

Breakfast had plenty of choices and there was ample space to eat. The stay at Mercure Bugis was memorable, and I'd be glad to come back. At the lounge, both hot and cold drinks were available. The selection was good, though juice could be replenished faster, and still water would be a welcome addition. Happy hour from 6-8 pm included three hot food options and red and white wine. The infinity pool and gym were well equipped, although the gym felt a little small. Reception staff were patient, welcoming and helpful, and the room was clean, ready and had thoughtful welcome amenities. It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end.

We got a complimentary upgrade from Signature Queen Loft to Executive Loft with Accor Gold membership, which we really appreciated. The upstairs loft was cosy, and the sofa bed downstairs could be extended into a flat bed. The room was comfortable, with tasteful decor and a thoughtful layout. Staff were courteous, prompt and responsive throughout, and the location was convenient for nearby amenities.

The pool was good, and the filtered drinking water tap was handy. Staff at the hotel were wonderful. The room was comfortable, though it could use drawers and had very little hanging space. I also couldn't get decaffeinated coffee from the in-room coffee supplies. Please fix that. There are two shopping centres opposite, with lots of restaurants and a supermarket. Gardens by the Sea, Marina Bay Sands, the Museum, Raffles Hotel and the Fullerton Hotel are close by. It's a quick taxi ride to Clarke's Quay, where you can take a boat along the river towards the harbour.
