RedDoorz Hostel @ Lavender Street

It's easy to get around from here, with subway stations and malls within walking distance. The rooms are nice, and the air conditioner was quiet and worked well. The TV only had a handful of channels, though that's probably not why you're in Singapore. The big issue was the awful mattress: the springs dug into my back, and sleeping on a board would have been more comfortable.

There's a restaurant in the building, right in front of reception. A short walk outside takes you to several nice restaurants, massage parlours and spas, plus some night bars for drinks. The rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful when you make a request.

Before booking, make sure to check whether your room has a window, as many rooms here don't. We were first assigned a windowless room, then exchanged it for one with a window overlooking the main road. The hotel is opposite ARC 180 hotel. RedDoorz hotel, also known as The Nobel hotel, is on jalan basar. Bendemeer MRT station is 600mt away, and jalan basar MRT station is 950 mt away. Breakfast isn't a buffet; they offer set menus such as set A and Set B. For vegetarians, only set D was available, with two breads, butter and some boiled vegetables. The other things at the hotel were good. Walking toward jalan Basar MRT station, you'll pass lots of Indian food options.

The staff were kind and nice, and the equipment all worked, though the stay wasn't especially comfortable. The bathroom and toilet are in the same space, with no separate wet and dry areas. The door has a key lock, plus a manual lock on the inside. There were 2bottle of water.
