The Vagabond Club, Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The staff were top notch, and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic. I also liked the tasteful, eclectic decor. The whole place has a lovely moody, artsy look, but it was too dark for me. With all the dark wood and deep red hues, better lighting in the entry and hallways would help my poor eyes. The rooms were a smidgen too tight as well. Still, it's a wonderful little gem of a hotel to enjoy on a trip through Singapore, and I'd recommend it if you're keen eyed and skinny.

The neighborhood feels lively, safe and genuinely Singaporean, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and fairly easy access to two different MRT lines. Prices seemed modest and fair for the area. My room was small, but fully adequate: clean, quiet and very comfortable. The staff were genuinely friendly too. I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend the hotel. I'd gladly come back.

The live jazz night is well worth seeing and hearing. The musicians were super skilled and made for a real musical experience. I also loved the interior, with its old colonial charm, and the service was great. My room was clean, though a bit tight on space. I stayed alone for a couple of nights. The hotel isn't right in the center, but it's pretty close by MRT or rideshare. I walked too, though it's definitely a trek if you don't enjoy walking.

The retro feel and cool jazz at night made the hotel fun, and breakfast was fabulous. My room was small but cozy, and I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in Singapore. The staff were fantastic, warm and helpful. I loved them all, especially Gabriel, Aarti, Arianne, Jennifer, Shakeela and Shah.
