Code Hostel at Lavender

The beds were cozy, and public transport is close by. The staff were really friendly and kept the kitchen, toilet, and bathroom areas clean and comfortable. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this hostel.

The staff were friendly, but the facilities made this a disappointing stay. There are only three very basic bathrooms, and the dorm rooms are so tiny that bags have to be kept beside the kitchen. Getting dressed was awkward, and finding anything in my belongings was a struggle. The hostel also isn't in a great spot, about an hour on foot from the city centre or 20 minutes by metro.

The shared room was simple and fairly clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The area felt safe, with the train station nearby, though it still takes a bit of walking to get there. There isn't much room inside, and it feels cramped. Guests can't bring luggage into the rooms, which I understand, but it makes it harder to keep valuable things close. The shared bathrooms and showers were clean but squeezed in and very small. An overhead shelf or another hook would help keep clothes dry and off the floor while showering.

We booked five nights, but after the first one we left and booked another hotel. I've traveled around the world and stayed in hostels, but never somewhere like this. It may be cheap, but I wouldn't stay here even for a dollar a day. The setup didn't seem safe to me: there were no emergency exits, and the kitchen, bathroom, and bag storage were all in one space without doors. There were only two tiny showers for everyone. The bedrooms and common areas had no windows, just a huge iron door that opened during the day onto a fake garden facing the street, surrounded by skyscrapers.
