Hostel Opera

The lockers come with proper locks and keys, which isn't common in hostels, and the staff were very nice. They even offered to wait longer for my late check-in at 20:15. The hostel is new, nicely designed, and conveniently located, so it has potential, but I still wouldn't recommend it unless the issues are fixed. There isn't much room for food: the fridge is tiny and there's no real place to keep dry goods. After checkout, luggage is left near reception, which can be unattended. Privacy in the mixed bathroom is another problem. The showers have only the sort of glass screen you'd have at home, with nowhere private to change, so you could be undressed in front of guests of either sex brushing their teeth nearby. I'm not sure what the designers were thinking; this setup won't suit most people. The men's toilet door lock doesn't work, so you have to hope nobody opens it too quickly. There are signs asking guests to pick hair out of the shower, which made me wonder if this was my house or somewhere I was paying to stay. Towels cost 4€, though you do get both a bath towel and a hand towel.

It's a lovely, very tidy hostel, and the staff are friendly and willing to help. The location is excellent.

A great hostel, with excellent facilities and a great location. It was very quiet too.

I was so glad to spend a night at the lovely, clean Opera Hostel. It's also quite close to the City center of Ljubljana.
