Guest Accommodation Primula

One of the best meals we had in three weeks of eating at restaurants all over Slovenia. I’m so glad we got to try this place. We only ate here, we didn’t stay at the hotel. Everything was delicious and homemade, and our server made excellent suggestions for both food and wine. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The mixed fish platter to start was just the right size, with lots of different flavors and fish so tender it melted in your mouth. The salted fish main was also incredibly tender and moist, with delicious creamed spinach, roasted vegetables and potatoes done just right. The chocolate soufflé was nicely balanced, and espresso with homemade chocolates finished the meal perfectly.

Every time I come here, it’s great. On my last visit we had the vegan, gluten-free menu, and it was delicious and filling. The service is friendly and attentive. Thank you!

There’s a lovely garden terrace and another outdoor viewing terrace with gorgeous views of the river, dam and amazing railway bridge. Sadly, the rainy weather meant we didn’t really get to enjoy them. At dinner, I had the delicious black rice with squid, and the local Chardonnay was lovely too. We’re hiking and walking to the Primula entrance meant taking part of a busy road, so this is a better location for someone with a car. The staff were helpful and courteous. We arrived before check-in, but it wasn’t a problem. They made us feel welcome and even gave us a glass of wine while they prepared the room.

Even five years later, friends and family still sometimes bring up what a wonderful wedding we had here. The pleasant setting close to nature, scenic views and excellent food are all reasons I’d recommend it.
