Hostel Sonce

A handy stop when travelling to or from Croatia. The rooms were clean, parking was easy, and there was a relaxing terrace. The lady we spoke with was very nice. There’s a shared kitchen where you can cook, plus a kebab place nearby with cold beer. We recommend it.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at SONCE Hostel in Ptuj. The kind staff gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. Our room was clean and cozy, and breakfast was delicious and clearly prepared with care. The staff went above and beyond to make the visit memorable. If you want somewhere that feels like home, this is it. We’d highly recommend it.

The rooms are tiny and weren’t cleaned properly. I barely slept during the seven hours I was there overnight in transit because the whole place smelled of pee. The sheets looked clean, so I suspect the smell was coming from the mattress. The place stinks in general, with random old stuff left around everywhere. It felt busy and dirty, not homey at all. The conditions were horrible, and I’d suggest finding somewhere better to spend the night. The old reviews don’t reflect how it is now.

Breakfast had plenty of tasty options, and my room was comfortable and spotless. I spent a week here and really enjoyed it. The hosts were warm and accommodating. I’d happily recommend the place.
