The noise was the biggest problem. With rooms opening onto a ceramic-tiled corridor, every sound echoed, and a slammed door felt like it was right beside my head while I was trying to sleep. There wasn’t a table in the room either, though that was a minor issue by comparison. On arrival, reception was empty, so I called the number posted there. A rude man said my booking was for 6:30 and I should wait 15 minutes, which wasn’t true. A very nice woman came later and took payment, but didn’t give me a receipt, saying she’d email it. I still haven’t received it.

The host let us check in without being there, and the staff were lovely. Our room was very good, with a large bathroom and a soft, comfortable bed. It’s about 10-15 minutes from the motorway. Calling the host directly costs less than booking.

There were spiders and webs all over the room, and the decor made the place feel pretty dirty. I gave three stars only because the price is low and a lower rating felt unfair. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Just so-so. The room had very basic furnishings, and there was no breakfast available in the middle of summer. No kettle or mineral water in the room, either.
