Hisa Brdo

My first stop in Slovenia turned out to be such a welcoming one. Roger and Louise shared recommendations for the rest of my trip, and as a solo traveler I enjoyed meeting the other guests. On my second night, when no one else was there, they sat down and ate with me. The house is beautiful and comfortable, Louise's dinners are great, and breakfast is available too. It felt like home. If I make it back to Slovenia, I'll stay here again.

We only had one night here, which was a shame. After a long walk in the heat, we arrived to a clear, helpful welcome, and the view was breathtaking. Roger and Louise are natural hosts, happy to share their unusual, fascinating story and help with local information. Our room and bathroom were lovely, with the best bed you could wish for. The tasteful furnishings kept things simple, without pointless decor or appliances. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. We hope to return with our daughters when it's cooler. This review is long overdue!

We had dinner and breakfast, both homemade and lovely. The room was superb, and the balcony caught the evening sun. Roger and Louise were warm and friendly, with lots of local tips. After a hike, keep your boots on and head down to the river for a great dip.

The views from the decking down the valley are incredible in any weather, and it's a lovely spot to sit with a drink. The guesthouse sits on a beautiful valley slope and has been restored to a really high standard. You can see the effort that's gone into it, and everything was clean and tidy. I stayed in Ces's room, where the bed was roomy and comfortable. Roger and Louise are brilliant hosts. I'd happily recommend the place and come back.
