The location at the edge of town felt calm, but it was still easy to get around. Our room had more space than I expected and everything needed to stay comfortable in the Arctic. I spent two days here in 24x7 darkness, staying at one of the world’s northernmost full-service hotels, which was a bucket-list experience. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, and having the northernmost pub in the world right downstairs was a real highlight.

Breakfast was delicious, easily the best hotel breakfast we’ve had in a while, and the pub and restaurant attached to the hotel were excellent too. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the property is right in the center of Longyearbyen. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.

The restaurant is great, and the staff at this nice hotel were very friendly. The rooms in the separate building are a little old-fashioned, though, and going back outside after a restaurant visit wasn’t pleasant in the cold. The whirlpool was closed one day and fully booked the next day of my stay.

One thing to know is that the suites are in a second building next door. Our room was good and had a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was amazing. It had one of the best showers I’ve ever used. The buffet breakfast was extensive, and they opened early for those of us catching early flights. That alone earns the five stars for me.

Breakfast offered plenty of tasty choices, including fruit, pastries, eggs made to order, and local dishes. The fitness center and spa were in good shape, with options for unwinding after a day out. I also found the location convenient for nearby attractions and transport, while still quiet enough to rest. My room was spacious, modern, and spotless, with a very comfortable bed and a breathtaking view combining the town and the surrounding nature. The quality toiletries and plush towels were nice touches. Staff welcomed me warmly and were helpful throughout, always smiling and quick to respond. I had a fantastic stay at Radisson Blu Polar Hotel, and it lived up to its 5-star reputation. The attention to detail and comfort impressed me, and I’d recommend it for a luxurious, memorable visit.
