Hotel West

The hotel wouldn’t refund my booking after I asked to cancel more than three weeks before the planned visit. I only found out about the high pet charge afterward, and they had a chance to agree to the cancellation but declined. It felt like greed over basic kindness. The fee is "Pet cleaning fee of 16,00 € (small and medium dogs up to 15 kg and cats) or 29 € (larger dogs) will be applied for the first night and 5 € for each additional night". I’d strongly suggest one of the many other places in Bratislava. Some are more modern, with professional and kind staff, and pet friendliness that isn’t just a cover for overcharging for cleaning.

The hotel is set in a very quiet spot right in the forest, with walkable woods, lots of flowers, and lovely fresh air. You do need a cart to get there. Rooms are clean but could use a little repair, and the elevator goes straight to the parking, which is handy, especially for a night check-in. Breakfast was okay for the price, and the value overall is very good.

It was so quiet, and we had a really lovely one-night escape. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room had plenty of space, and the staff were friendly. We’d definitely stay again.

The restaurant was pleasant, with good food and service, though it doesn’t open on New Year’s Eve. It’s a quiet hotel outside town, so I wouldn’t recommend it to travelers without a car. Our room was clean and warm in winter, and the beds were good, but the walls are thin and you can hear everything from other rooms. Breakfast was average, and when lots of people arrive at once there aren’t enough tables, so they have to wait in the lobby. All in all, a typical 4 star hotel.
