I called ahead to ask about arriving after 9:00 pm, which was the check-in cutoff. The hotel’s own website says late check-in depends on availability and prior confirmation, and may involve a fee. I knew that and wanted to arrange it in advance. They flatly refused. The person I spoke with was extremely rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. I kept being interrupted and talked over, and was treated with open hostility. They called me a liar and directly called me “stupid,” then said I don’t speak English properly, even though I’m fluent. The passive-aggressive, dismissive tone was shocking from anyone working in hospitality. I’ve worked in hospitality for nearly eight years and have never been treated with such disrespect by a hotel employee. If you arrive in Bratislava after 9:00 pm, you risk losing your money, being denied entry, getting no refund, and being verbally mistreated. This hotel is rude, unprofessional, and utterly unfit for guests. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Avoid it.

We paid the deposit, but they refused to return it and kept our money for no relevant reason. Don't get scammed. Stay away from these thieves!

We agreed with the owner that, as an exception, check-in between 9 and 10 pm would be possible. I even considered taking an earlier flight, but the owner said there was no need. At that point I could still cancel my reservation. Once the booking became non-cancellable, the owner told me that even the slightest delay past 10 pm would mean we couldn't check in. Fortunately, we arrived on time as agreed. The owner was very unfriendly and unhelpful, and basically sabotaged our check-in until 10 pm. Then he said, “Its 10, I am going home now, call me tomorrow, if I am in a better mood I will maybe check you in then”. I asked what I was supposed to do, since I had booked his apartment for a week and was standing on the street at night. He didn't care. I messaged him on WhatsApp to say I would inform Booking.com and consider legal action because I wouldn't accept how he had treated us. He sent an angry WhatsApp, cancelled my entire reservation, and accused me of being aggressive and threatening him ;-) To sum up, the owner didn't check us in for no valid reason. After I complained, he cancelled the whole booking for the coming week and told Booking.com we hadn't arrived on time, using “no show” as his reason. He kept my entire prepayment, approximately Euro 1100, and stopped responding. Booking.com wasn't helpful either. I'll now get a lawyer and file a lawsuit.

The apartment was spacious and the location was perfect. Having a washing machine was just what we needed 😃. The beds were so hard, though, that I woke up with a broken back. Otherwise, it would have been five stars.

We’d booked and paid for this stay while returning from a family vacation, but the check-in cutoff caused a real problem. We were only ten minutes late, yet the person on the phone, whether the owner, concierge, or reception, refused to open the apartment or leave a key or room card anywhere. They sounded angry and pretentious, too. A waste of time and money. Please beware.
