VIP Apartments

We had a one-night stay and wanted to try authentic Slovak food, so Boris at the front desk suggested 1 Slovak Pub and wrote down the name of a dish, bryndzove halusky. He's the man. We arrived in Bratislava early and couldn't check in yet, but left our bags with him and he took them to our room. We got Room 204, overlooking the pedestrian street and St. Michael's gate. It could be noisy there, but the room has two sets of soundproof windows. It's very compact, yet comes with lots of features, including a full kitchen with a washing machine, a couch, a small table, and a work desk. My wife thinks this small bathroom is the best we've had so far in Europe. The shower has a door! VIP is right beside St. Michael's Gate, with all the attractions an easy walk away. The train station is about 1.6 km away, or a 21-minute walk. We'd highly recommend VIP if you want to stay in.

You can get around the old city on foot from here, and Michael's gate is in the same building. The rooms were very clean, practical, and had what I needed. Staff were really friendly too. Breakfast was just okay. I think it’s arranged through "Wok", and the woman there had a strange attitude, so I wouldn’t recommend eating breakfast there.

Street noise wasn’t a problem in my room, even though it was right outside. It was clean and comfortable, and the old town location made it easy to walk to pretty much anywhere I wanted to go in 15 minutes or less. Recommended.

The staff were so helpful, and the apartment had everything I wanted: a kitchen with a fridge, induction hob, washing machine and microwave, plus a great shower room. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable and modern, with good air conditioning. It’s right in Bratislava Old Town, and there’s bike storage too.
