Chalets Jasná Collection - Apartments

We booked a stay with breakfast at cottage 15/2. The cottage was spacious and clean, and a very nice receptionist at the central cottage explained everything at check-in and gave us gopass cards to use as keys and on the cable cars. Our main frustration was with the service. You have to request cottage cleaning in advance, otherwise nobody comes to make the beds, change towels or vacuum daily. Towels and sheets for the wellness area were often missing, though a concierge is available to help. The whirlpool wasn't checked, and by day three its water sat below the jets, so bathing wasn't comfortable. The layout and facilities were great: a wellness area with Finnish sauna, relaxation space, shower, toilet and terrace access with a jacuzzi on the ground floor. Two bedrooms, each with a bathroom, were upstairs on the first floor. The second floor had a living room with a fireplace and chopped wood, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. The TV wasn't smart, which surprised us, so streaming wasn't possible, only regular channels. Bathrooms had shower gel and hand soap, but no body lotion, shampoo or conditioner, so bring your own. Breakfast arrived in wooden boxes each morning, with packaged ham, cheeses, chopped vegetables, fruit, spreads, juice, yogurt, milk, sausages or eggs to cook yourself, and bread. A few days in, we found the ham was past its date, so check the labels. After we complained, they brought fresh ham and wine as an apology, but the next day there were no vegetables or cheeses, which felt like a reaction to our complaint. The location, price and first impression were all great, but the last evening was a letdown. We went to use the jacuzzi and found the water foamy and smelly, as shown in the picture. Reception said changing it would cost an extra 50€, and suggested, based on their "experiences," that we had probably caused the water to go bad. The receptionist then hung up and didn't answer when we called back. I'd like to understand how we could have contaminated the water in only three days, especially since it's changed before new guests arrive. Nobody had explained what not to do with the jacuzzi, so we assumed it worked like the others we've used in our free time. We've never had a water quality issue like this before. Think about other apartments in the area if you don't want your après-ski spoiled by high-quality appliances and a "very helpful" and "proactive" receptionist. Don't expect your room to be cleaned, since it's just a random 4* :) And bring headphones or a speaker, otherwise you'll hear the neighbours above or below ;) Cheers, and enjoy skiing! The hotel was just what we expected, and the location was good. Denisa at reception welcomed us warmly and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Her help, friendly manner and recommendations made the stay memorable. A big thank you to her! 💯

I've stayed in some amazing hotels on my travels, but this chalet is easily in my all-time top three. The rooms were spacious and incredibly clean, the beds comfortable, and the fireplace kept things cosy. Denise and Eva were so kind and helpful. It's quite a walk from the chalet to Biela Put, but I can't think of anything else to fault. I hope we can come back. Thanks for a lovely stay.
