We had a good stay and I’d still recommend the hotel as a safe, comfortable place. The staff were professional and very nice, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of tasty choices. Dinner was fine, though nothing memorable. The building is lovely, with high ceilings, a pleasant reception and spacious rooms. There are about five parking spaces at the front and another five to eight behind the building. The wellness area is small, with two saunas, though only one was working, plus a hot tub for three or four. Since guests book a time, it felt private and was roomy enough to relax in. Cleanliness could use more attention. It wasn’t awful, but we found ants around the minibar, probably because something sticky had spilled underneath. We told reception, but even after the room was cleaned that day, the ants were still there.

The hotel has a lot of potential, but the service needs work. At this price, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it yet. The old building has fairly modern room furniture and is quite nice. But when we arrived in mid-December, it was about -3C outside and only around 15C in the room because the heating was off. We turned it on at about 9 p.m., and the room only got warm by 7 a.m., just as we had to leave. There was only one set of towels for a double room, tucked in the wardrobe with the extra blankets. Breakfast had five hot options, such as scrambled eggs, eggs with bacon and sausages, along with ham, cheese and bacon, a few fruits and three kinds of muesli. The coffee was fresh and good.

I’m very disappointed after staying at Hotel Lev for more than four weeks, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Other guests I spoke with described similar problems, especially with housekeeping. The rooms and bathrooms are okay, since the place was renovated a few years ago. But the floor and bathroom were never cleaned during my stay. More than ten times I left my towels on the floor and no fresh ones were brought. When they did replace them, some had tears, stains or footprints. Staff acted as though they didn’t speak English whenever I raised this, and I felt they were rude. Breakfast is meant to start at 7 a.m. on weekdays, but sometimes the hours changed without notice, so I had to leave for work without eating. It’s advertised as included, yet a second coffee costs extra. When I politely raised all this with the manager, she said she didn’t care and couldn’t do anything.

The payment process took quite a while, and the room could have been cleaner. The bathroom bin had been left full by the previous guests. Breakfast was limited and nothing special. It’s a three-star hotel, so keep your expectations there.

The people are friendly, and English is no problem. My room was clean, comfortable and cozy, and I liked the very high hallways. Parking is somewhat limited, with two spaces in front and maybe five inside. I’d stay here again if I come back to town.
