Trend Hotel

We were crossing the mountains on our way to Jasna and stayed one night at Trend Hotel in three double rooms. Its location is convenient: easy to spot from the main road, close to grocery stores, a bus stop, and other facilities. It sits a little outside the city, so it was very quiet. Check-in was simple, with no documents requested. We were just handed the keys and told the formalities would be handled in the morning. I shouldn't have agreed to that. The rooms were clean and very warm. It was February, so we turned off the heating and opened a window. There weren't many guests, from what I could tell only about 10 other rooms were occupied. We found no toiletries in the room. Maybe I'm picky, but I think shampoo and shower gel should be standard in a 3-star hotel. Of our three TVs, only one worked: one had sound problems so we couldn't hear anything, and another had no power cable. The morning was worse. Breakfast was listed as 7:30 to 9:00. When we checked in, we asked whether we could eat a little earlier, around 7am, because we wanted to leave then. The receptionist said no. At 7am, there was nobody at reception when we tried to check out and pay. It took us half an hour to find anyone. We woke a girl, who came downstairs, took our payment, then went back to sleep. The menu and website described breakfast as including different omelettes, cereals, pancakes, meat and cheeses, plus juices, milk, tea, and coffee. Instead we found just one plate of cheese, one plate of bread, and one plate of sausages, with nothing else. Remember, we were the only guests at breakfast. When we asked the “personnel,” two guys in the kitchen who were cutting bread and smoking at the same time, whether more food was coming, they said everything was already on the table and asked why we wanted anything else. Asked about pancakes or eggs, they first acted as if they didn't know what we meant. After we showed them the menu, they agreed to make four pancakes. It seemed like an unusual task for them. We waited 20 minutes, then left without a proper meal because, as mentioned, we were trying to leave early.
