Hotel AquaCity Mountain View

Breakfast and dinner were both nice, with a good range of options, and the staff were friendly. The hotel itself was nice too, though a little expensive. Riverside Hotel can be a bit tricky to find. The outdoor pool is fun when it’s snowing around you :)

The outdoor area and car park both feel overdue for an update, and I couldn't tell whether parking was paid or free. Inside, nothing really gave me a wow moment, though it was fine enough for kids. I probably visited at a quieter time, but the staff still seemed worn out and not very welcoming for the price. A few pools I've been to have left a stronger impression. The biggest frustration came when I tried to step out briefly. The staff member at the gate took my watch and put it through the machine, but I couldn't understand what he was saying. I had things in a locker secured by that watch, and some of our group were still inside, so I couldn't get them. Most of the staff I met didn't speak English, apart from one woman. For such a well-known tourist spot, that was disappointing. Better customer service training and shifts that give staff a break might help. This was a bucket-list visit for me, but I doubt I'll return. The price isn't cheap, and owners could surely reinvest in the place. Language and courtesy matter, even if the attraction is still bringing in money.

The outdoor thermal pool is really relaxing, and the kids' area is fun. It's a big place, though, and the directions aren't clear, so it's easy to get lost. Sometimes bracelets aren't available, and if you're stuck between zones you have to wait until a staff member happens to come by.

The hotel is close to the city centre, with a lovely mountain view, and the rooms were clean. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant had a good range of tasty food. The aquapark was also very clean and had everything we needed. The one odd thing was being charged €3 for a one-litre jug of tap water.
