Hotel 63

I loved the hotel’s modern interior, with its clean industrial lines and Banksy's art on the walls. The room was large, comfortable, spotless, and had an en suite. Staff were always smiling and very accommodating. Breakfast was served at the bar and had everything from cereal to a delicious omelette made by the chef. The location makes it easy to get to the city centre and all the amenities. I’d highly recommend staying here, including for families with children.

My room was dusty, and there were marks on the glasses, kettle, and tray. That cost the place a star. The service was as expected, nothing more or less. I knew where it was when I booked, and the location worked for me: about a 10 minute walk to the town centre and 15 minutes to the main train station. It’s a small hotel, but my room was huge, with a very large bed and loads of room for luggage. The bathroom was excellent, with a rainfall shower. The shared area is modern, nicely decorated, and easy to get around. I enjoyed my stay and think it’s worth the price.

We skipped the breakfast at first, and I’d suggest doing the same. The buffet was available on just one morning. After that, we had to choose from a menu with prices that felt unjustifiably high for hotel breakfast. We paid 9,5 euros per person for the buffet, then 6,1 euros just for scrambled eggs the next day. The hotel itself was about as average as you’d expect. The bigger issue was the limited hot water. Two showers could barely fit in before it gradually turned cold, which made our stay really unpleasant.

The location is a big plus: around a 15 minute walk from Poprad station, across from the hockey stadium and aquacity, with a Lidi further along the road. Restaurant 63 just across the street serves traditional food in lovely surroundings, and the hotel bistro has delicious cakes. Our apartment was a really good size and had everything we needed. The rooms are clean and modern, and the hotel is well priced. Staff were friendly and professional, happy to offer advice or help with anything. Breakfast was fresh, with a great mix of cooked and continental options.
