X Bionic Hotel

The sports focus makes this hotel feel different, and the overall range of facilities would make me consider coming back. Some things in the rooms could be improved, but nothing was too inconvenient. Service, though, needs serious attention. At the Asian restaurant, one or two staff understood hospitality. The rest seemed to hang around the bar and looked annoyed when we asked about drinks that hadn’t arrived. Reception was worse. The young staff seemed uninterested in making the stay a good experience, and acted annoyed much of the time. I wish management treated service as seriously as the many sports facilities.

We stayed at X-Bionic hotel over spring break, when only indoor activities were available. The hotel was practically empty, but the stay still didn’t meet expectations. We arrived at 1:00 pm with a family room and private terrace booked. They charged us an extra 30 euros for early check-in, which surprised us given how few guests there were. There wasn’t any mineral water in the room. Robes weren’t included, and nobody told us we could rent them, so getting to the pool and spa meant an awkward walk without them. The spa is for guests aged 18 and over. Our key didn’t open it, either, so we had to walk back to reception while wet to get the problem fixed. The outdoor pool is very small, and the passage connecting it with the indoor pool was uncomfortably cold. Dinner was advertised from 6-9 pm, but seemed to be aimed at a children’s camp staying at the hotel. At 6:45 pm, we could only choose from what was left, including a few pizza slices and a few other items, for 20 euro per person. There’s a lovely Asian restaurant nearby, but not everyone in my family likes that kind of food, and one of my daughters went hungry. I asked for the early check-in fee to be waived because the hotel was nearly empty, but they refused. We’d initially thought about staying longer, but with the surprise charges and limited amenities, we won’t be back.

The reception area looks glamorous, but the food and rooms aren’t good enough to justify the price. They even charged 15 Euros for an ironing board and iron. I’ve never had to pay extra for that at a hotel before, especially one that costs this much.

A lovely place to unwind and enjoy some free time, with sports activities nearby as well. It’s worth making the effort to try it out.
