We had an easy time booking directly with Marcel, and the price felt fair. There was plenty of room to park two cars on the property. The house had everything we needed, plus extras like a sauna, boat, game room, BBQ, and air conditioning in every room. The garden opens right onto the lake, which was great for swimming. The one drawback was loud music from some bars across the lake, even early in the morning and late at night.

It was peaceful by the lake, and the house had plenty of room for our two families with children. Being near both Bratislava and Vienna made it a handy base for city trips, then coming back to relax. The price for ten of us was reasonable. The house itself is huge, but it felt as though we might have been the first guests of the year: things were dusty and messy, the dishes hadn't been washed, and some worn areas need renovation. The stove could barely heat plain water. It was cold inside, and because the owner controlled the heating remotely, we couldn't adjust it ourselves. There were cameras inside, which we probably switched off as the owner suggested, though we weren't sure they were actually off.

We stayed here as a family of eight just before the Christmas holidays, and there was plenty of space. The place had what we needed, and it was warm and cozy in winter. I especially enjoyed the bathhouse, then jumping into the nearby icy lake. The host answered our questions online almost right away.
