There was no reception. I rang the doorbell for 10 minutes with no answer, then called the number. Someone answered in half English, half Slovak. Eventually a half-asleep guy opened the door and told me my three-day reservation through booking had been ignored. He didn’t even know how long I was meant to stay, and sent me to another hotel. I was supposed to come back here the next day, but again nobody answered the door. It was really inconvenient to pack all my things and return, and in another country I didn’t have phone credit to call, so I went to Bratislava and booked another hotel. Then came the MOST INTERESTING PART: the next day I found out they had charged me for all three days, and charged me TWICE. Yes, twice.

The location and room facilities were fine, but the management was a total mess. Communication was difficult, and nobody was there in person. I had to call multiple times to get someone to open the door. They also messed up the booking and made me cancel my reservation because their rooms of that type were “SOLD OUT”. Then they offered a more expensive room and would only take CASH. The next morning there was no breakfast, no one at reception to check me out, and they wouldn’t let guests leave luggage because they didn’t want to work for the next few hours.

The rooms were large and clean, but some of the bathroom furniture was broken. We didn’t get breakfast, and they didn’t accept Visa during our stay. Getting in was a struggle: we rang the bell with no answer, called one number and then another with no answer, and finally someone picked up. It took maybe 15 minutes before anyone came.

It’s a really nice place to stay. I felt as if I had a home in Slovakia. The staff were polite and kind, almost like family.

I booked through Booking and tried for several days to reach them about a problem, but nobody replied. The communication and service were really poor.
