The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were genuinely friendly, with a warm family feel. Breakfast and dinner were generous and varied. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the mountains, and there’s a microwave, fridge and kettle on each floor if you’d rather cater for yourself. The staff also gave really helpful advice about local walks. Great value, and I’d definitely recommend it and come back.

We had no water in the house on two of our four days, so we couldn’t drink or flush the toilet. Each night the owner had to come and adjust the water pump to fix it. On the other two days, we were left with no hot water. This was completely unacceptable, and we got no compensation. The house is outdated, with furniture and equipment that are 30 years old. Only the exterior has been renovated, which gives a misleading impression. Nearby guesthouses were all in much better condition for the same price.

The location is a real plus, and our room was clean. Still, the old, heavily worn furniture made the place feel unclean, and the beds were too small. In my opinion, it’s poor value for the money.
