A good spot to stay, especially during these "difficult" times.

It's not bad.

I stayed four days and found it a good base for getting around, as long as your expectations for cost and comfort are normal. The owners are renovating, so builders may be audible during the day. I was happy there and didn't really want to leave. There's a €10 local tax. The 124 bus is a two-minute walk away. It goes to Žillina bus train/train station and Tesco's Hypermarket, and the drivers were helpful. For food, CO- OP is easy to miss but only 30 seconds from the bus station. There's also a restaurant near the bus stop, close to Maria's. One thing I wish they'd change: the toilet walls don't reach the ceiling.

The room I booked had its own bathroom. It was basic, clean and fairly roomy, and the owner was very kind, even ordering me a pizza that I ate in the garden. The B&B is a few kilometers from town, but walking there isn't really an option. The owner said the road was dangerous, and the alternative route through an industrial area was just as dangerous. There's a pub outside, a bit creepy, and otherwise not much around.
