Hotel Dogana

The employees were very friendly and helpful, but the rooms hadn't been cleaned for days and were very dusty. The furniture, including the bed, was outdated, and I could feel the springs while I slept. Breakfast was dry and had very little choice, so guests shouldn't expect much.

The lobby was very large and relaxing, and the staff were kind and available, especially the cleaning lady. I stayed 5days. My room was pretty big, though it could have been cleaner, and the furniture was ancient. Still, I slept well. Breakfast was ordinary, not very extensive, but had most of what you need. It was fine.

The location is good, and the rooms are okay, small but clean and warm, maybe 3/5. Our balcony door opened straight onto the street, which felt odd. Parking was limited, especially with a full hotel, and we arrived late. Around 8 am someone tried to get in with the wrong key, but luckily we had locked the door from inside. Then room service came in without knocking at 9, even though checkout was until 11. Sound insulation wasn't great either.

The staff who welcomed us at check-in were very friendly and polite, and spoke English. The hotel sits on the main road into San Marino, with free but limited parking. The room on the second floor was a letdown: it smelled bad, the blind strip felt greasy, and there were what looked like dog hairs stuck to the door, as shown in the photo. The closet was really just a curtain. There were hardly any outlets for charging devices, with none on either side of the bed. One was in the bathroom, one on the right wall, and two others were being used by the refrigerator and TV. Breakfast was okay, though several dishes hadn't been washed properly. One knife was still covered in Nutella. I wouldn't recommend staying here for long.
