Breakfast in the garden was a lovely way to start the day. The large garden has birds, chickens and baby pigs, with the huts set around it. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a fan and paintings by a local artist. Charlemagne is a very kind man, and I enjoyed staying here. The camp is right beside the village center, where a big tree stands in the middle of an active square. In the evenings, people gather there to relax, socialize and eat. It’s a short walk to the beach, and the interesting local museum is 3km away. I’d happily recommend the place.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. Their natural roofs and ceilings kept them cool during the hottest part of the day. It’s also very conveniently placed, right by the village entrance.

Diembering has a huge, quiet beach, affordable food, and a fun bar just across from Campement Asseb. I’m already thinking about when I can come back. Charlemagne was a fantastic host, kind, helpful, and a great cook. His nephew Jocelyn was great too, and I had an amazing day out with him visiting Elinkin, on his birthday, no less. I loved staying here.

The rooms have already had improvements, and there are plans for a new bar and restaurant at the front. The outside could put you off at first, but the stay is good value, the accommodation is comfortable, and the dinners are excellent.

Charlemagne, the manager, is an angel, genuinely caring and attentive to the little details. The customer service here is among the best I’ve experienced anywhere.
