The staff were kind, the food was amazing, and the hotel was beautiful. We loved being able to surf just outside our door, with quiet water and no need to compete for waves. It was unlike anything I've experienced and perfect for learning. The massage was great too, with a wild view. Huge thanks to Louis for taking my friend and me to the doctor and translating the whole time. He went above and beyond, and I really don't know what we would have done without him.

The location is spectacular, with warm water, great surfing, and beautiful surroundings. The staff were attentive, friendly, and did their best to meet our needs, even though they seemed short staffed. My family and I still managed to enjoy our two nights, but arrival was disappointing, and we worried about safety with children and elderly relatives in our group. Broken handrails, worn furniture, unappealing pools, old towels, and general maintenance issues made the facilities fall well short of the luxury experience advertised. The property was functional enough for a pleasant stay, but might fit expectations better if treated as an eco-lodge. Staff also mentioned concerns about management not investing in the place, which was disheartening. I raised the issues with the property manager, who said recovery initiatives were underway, but staff seemed unaware of those plans, so I'm unsure how far along they are. The property clearly has potential, and I hope the improvements happen. Given the price and marketing, I felt misled. El Salvador can offer real luxury, as I've experienced over the years, but this property no longer meets that standard. Misleading advertising risks hurting the country's image as it works to become a major tourist destination.

Highly recommended. You won't forget the visit, and you'll want to come back.

For our first family trip to El Salvador, this was a five-star stay. We live in the US and often visit Costa Rica, and brought our two little kids along. The whole place has a super tranquilo vibe, with clean rooms, amazing views, excellent included food, and attentive, kind staff. The beach and surf location was dreamy, and renting boards onsite made things easy. Rodrigo, the manager, was always available and helpful, and he and the staff made us feel safe and looked after, like a family. Mauricio from the board room was there at 0500 every day and set the kids up with soft top and boogie boards. I surfed right in front of the hotel while my wife enjoyed a leisurely breakfast overlooking the point break. The kids loved surfing, the 3 pools, the green lawn, and the hammocks. There were plenty of low tide pools and a cave for them to explore, and Cuco is a fun low tide walk down the beach. We already have a return trip planned.
